Amalgam Pedestals

Amalgam Pedestals are small plinths for use in domestic environments and are constructed with milled blocks of three stones; granite, marble, and schist. Using oddly shaped scraps of each material, geometries are found that allow the scraps to assemble together to create a larger volume. Each stone is treated with a finish that articulates its inherent qualities: granite is rough; marble is polished; and schist is matte and smooth. More a process than finite objects, Amalgam Pedestals offer a blueprint for repurposing not utilized waste from the stone industry in the realisation of objects for interiors.
