Museu da Luz

Mourão, Portugal

In a rural atmosphere where technique emerges from the manipulation of matter, the use of the material and local traditions brings the building act closer to a natural process of landscape construction. The 50cm thick double concrete and schist walls, extracted from a local quarry 3 kilometres from the museum, determined the spatial atmosphere of the museum and increased the thermal inertia of the building.
