Amores 2 is a three-dimensional typographic piece that explores the formal richness of letters when combined to form a word. The starting point is the word “Amores” which, in the context of typography and graphic arts, acquires an additional interest because it is a mnemonic used by some typographers to refer to the most used letters in the Portuguese language. The word “Amores” was fragmented so that its new form could result in other readings. The designers play particularly with the space between pairs of letters, proposing new ligatures, contradicting the syllabic division, starting with the two resulting monograms. The reading is done in a rotating direction, around the piece, which is built and sustained without any other additional elements.
